Lisa + Matt's Wedding

July 20, 2007

A Friday evening wedding is always so beautiful and relaxing. This suits Lisa and Matt! We had such a great time with their engagement photos that I knew what a great couple and wedding day they would be. Starting off at Lisa's parents the bridesmaids and Lisa were so casual and had lots of fun. Off to Cullen Gardens for their ceremony, photos and reception! It is so different now, then the Cullen Gardens we all knew, but it's so nice to still be able to go there. Their ceremony was set in around a stone area that was really neat. For photos after I used the summer evening sun for a sweet effect. Lisa and Matt are so cute together and so much in love!!! Enjoy a few shots everyone! Thanks guys for a great Friday wedding! Love,Heather

Kim & Scott's Engagement Session

Kim and Scott's wedding is coming up! They decided to do this photo session as we get to know each other more. I'm so glad they did. They are a sweet couple. I was trying to figure out what they are like, how they interact with each other. By the end it was great, they have a different feel to them and I think it conveys this in their photos. They just came back from teaching in South Korea for a year and I'm happy the took the time to do this. Enjoy!

When life throws you a hard ball.

Good morning everyone! It's a very foggy morning and hopefully we get some rain today. The weekend looks great again with no rain. I have another beautiful wedding on Saturday at Parkwood, so I hope the weather is nice!I have been crazy busy this week as life took a turn. My son, Hudson who is 6, injured his eye on Monday while playing with another boy. He was playing baseball in the backyard and was hit in the eye with a ball. It was totally an accident and I was standing right there. It was just a little medium hard hollow kid ball. That night is eye looked fine. So, the next morning Gabrielle had an eye appoint. for a check-up and Hudson's eye had now turned red and brown, his eyes are blue. I had it checked out and then we were sent to Dr.Stein in Toronto. The best eye doctor in Canada! After lots of antibiotics for his eyes, the bleeding had stopped and inflammation went down and the pain and he could see better. Yesterday I took him again to have it checked out and everything is going alright and he should have no damage. I would like to thank Dr. Coralee Mueller in Bowmanville for her amazing help to take the time to see Hudson and get him in with Dr.Stein instead of waiting in emerg.! The one thing that really helped while we were waiting and knowing that is eye was so hurt, that we were going to see one of the best doctors. It just shows you how accidents happen and even though we don't want to be nagging mothers or bring paranoid children up, things happen. My son is very rambunctious, so this weekend should be fun as he has to take it easy!

Up at the cottage!
A little forced here with Hudson's arm around sister, Gabrielle. She's trouble too!

Goofball!

I wish he didn't have his lifejacket on for the photo. He can swim, but you never know what might happen!

Jennifer + Nathan

Jennifer and Nathan are such an amazing couple!!! They are so much in love!!! It gives me goose bumps as they were married in the same church I was and Jennifer is the same age I was 9 yrs. ago when I was married at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. I have been going there for 16 yrs. and can picture Nathan when he was a little boy. The day was so much fun. Jennifer and her bridesmaids had a great time having there photos taken. Jennifer has a great smile and beautiful big brown eyes that it would be difficult not to take a good photo. The ceremony was full of love and praise with singing and a meaningful message. Wouldn't you know it, the rain came for the biggest date of all, 7/7/7. I think it was for all those brides that picked the date as it was to be lucky and they say rain is luck. Jennifer and Nathan don't need any luck at all, they have so much love and faith!!! Just keep that violet alive Nathan! Well, we had a fantastic time with photos. Everyone was so into being themselves and enjoying the day! I love that! I will never forget Jennifer and Nathan sitting up on top of the convertible back seat all the way from the lake to their hall...what fun!!! This is what a wedding is all about. Congrats you two, you are an amazing couple. Thanks for the opportunity to photograph your moments and your story.
Love,
Heather

Colleen + Shawnn

I wish I can have these sneak peaks up the week after the wedding. I have had so many Friday and Saturday weddings that I am a busy girl. Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing Colleen and Shawnn's wedding. When I went to meet Colleen at her sister's house for pictures before, I was taken away, she was absolutely stunning! Everything was perfectly styled from her hair, to her dress to her jewellery. All her six bridesmaids had chosen different little black dresses, that looked really nice. I loved the flowers with the cool tones of the hydrangeas. After some shots at the house we were off to Parkwood Estates for the rest of the evening. We took most of the photos before the ceremony as Colleen and Shawnn didn't want their guests to wait after for their photos. Everything went really well and the anticipation was on for the ceremony. The ceremony was performed by her mom in The Sunken Garden...just beautiful. After this a few more photos of the lovely couple. At the reception I took a shot of their favours. These were really cute, called Little Travellers made in South Africa by the people at Hillcrest AIDS Centre for income for the people there affected by HIV/AIDS. Colleen and Shawnn in return had made a donation to this organization, as you can at www.littletravellers.net .
Enjoy the photos and thank you to Colleen and Shawnn for making me part of your day.

Contest

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I need to make new cards up for my advertising. I am stuck though as I don't know what photo to pick for it. The cards are 4x6 size, one side advertising for weddings and the other for kid's portraits. You can help me by letting me know what your favourite photo is. This is what I am looking for: 1 photo for weddings and 1 photo for kid's portraits. The photos need to stand out from the crowd, one that will say to people "I love that photo, I have to book Heather". Take a look at all the photos on my web site and blog.

If I pick the photo that you have chosen I will give you a complimentary photo session.

Oh yeah, I need this by tomorrow, Tuesday July 24th.

Thanks so much and have fun!
Heather
